My commitment is this: I’ll match you dollar for dollar until we get this thing built… the only catch is we have to hurry! Rainy season comes in 4 weeks, so we haven’t got much time!
Dear Friend,
I need your help. I want to build some new bathrooms for a poor elementary school on Koh Samui Island in Thailand, and I need to ask you a huge favor. This school needs some money… fast!
Here’s what this is about:
Each year since 2005, I’ve committed to giving away money to help people less fortunate than me. I’m not a wealthy guy. I don’t own any property or even a car for that matter, but I try to give as much as I can because the fact is that compared to most of the world, I’ve got it made.
I eat great food. I live in a safe, clean home. I have the luxury of working for myself, traveling, and spending time with my family.
Others are not that fortunate.
Here’s the school:
140 kids (ages 4-12) and 9 teachers spend the majority of their time here every day.
Not bad, right?
Honestly, I’ve seen this school and it’s in decent shape, but the local government is screwed up and gives very little money to the schools for improvements.
So here’s the problem:
They have only 3 bathrooms (read: holes in the ground) for 149 people, and as you can see, these are in pretty sad shape.
I’d never let my 4-year old daughter use a bathroom like that (especially after 139 other kids had used it!) so I believe that this is an easy way that you and I can make a big difference in some young lives—right now!
Here’s where you come in:
My friends Paul and Jutima Dallaghan of Yoga Thailand have organized everything. They’ve hired some local builders are ready to start tomorrow provided we raise the funds.
Here’s what I promise:
I’ll match you dollar for dollar until we’ve built these kids some decent bathrooms, and my hope is that we actually raise enough to buy some new textbooks and computers too.
How much can you give?
1 Bathroom Roof: $60
2 Washbasins: $120
4 Toilets & Fittings: $250
2 Local Laborer’s Salary: $450
Please understand that there are no administrative costs or anything else involved here. This is just a school that needs some help, and we’re going to give it to them—and fast!

It’s always a little painful to give away your hard earned money. Believe me, I know; but I truly believe that you can never receive until you give. So let’s make this happen!
Please feel free to call or email me directly with any questions, and I promise to post up the pictures here after we get these bathrooms built!
I very much appreciate your help.
Sincerely,

p.s. Remember, I’ll match you dollar-for-dollar, so if you give $100, it’s like giving $200. Rainy season on Koh Samui is no joke… the streets flood and everything is a mess. We’ve just got 4 weeks. Can you help today?
